Location

Ampang is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, and it's often confused with Jalan Ampang (Ampang Road) which is a street located at Kuala Lumpur where most of the embassies are located. Ampang once have many South Korean expatriates in the town, hence you can see many Korean provision stores and restaurants around.

Overview

Ampang is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, located just off Kuala Lumour city center. Being a congested town due to its strategic location, you can just about get anything in Ampang, shopping, food, bars and schools. However one attraction stands out among others, and many travels from other cities and state to take a look at it, is the Ampang Look Out Point. Located just 15 minutes from Ampang town, 280meter above sea level, it has a bird's eye view of the Kuala Lumpur City Center.

Its breathtaking skyline view attracts many visitors and youngster who wish to enjoy the night view of KL in a breezy night. There are many cafes and restaurants at the Look Out Point for visitors to enjoy have their meal while enjoying the view. One particular restaurant stands out among others is the Panorama Restaurant, located at the Look Out Tower which further gives a height advantage for the view. It's among the newest restaurants there and it serves Middle Eastern and Western food.

Transport

There is not public transport to the Look Out point, so the best way is either by self-drive or catch a taxi.

By Car

It is located just 20 minutes from KLCC, so get into Jalan Ampang until you see a De Zana food court on your left, and then turn right at the traffic light. Keep going till you pass Carrefour on your right. Keep going and pass 5 traffic lights. On the 5th traffic light take a left turn. The journey becomes windy and drives carefully for another 3km and you will see a Look Out Point Complex on your right.

By Taxi

To save money, catch the LRT to Cempaka station and catch a taxi from there. The journey takes about 10 minutes
